Bobo-Dioulasso: The 2nd edition of the Allons à Bobo Music Festival will be held from April 26 to 30, 2023

The 2nd edition of the Allons à Bobo Music Festival will be held from April 26 to 30, 2023 under the theme “Music, a factor of resilience for a prosperous and inclusive Nation”, indicated last Friday at Bobo-Dioulasso, promoter Siaka Coulibaly.

“ Le Festival de Musique Allons à Bobo” (FEMABO) is part of the overall objective of ensuring the promotion and dissemination of Burkinabè music. It will specifically allow the discovery of the best artists of the year,” said promoter Siaka Coulibaly, known as His Majesty Chako Lombardy.

Mr. Coulibaly spoke last Friday in Bobo-Dioulasso during a press conference to announce the second edition of FEMABO which will be held from April 26 to 30, 2023 under the theme “Music, factor of resilience for a Nation prosperous and inclusive”.

He explained that the festival will make it possible to “offer a forum for the promotion of artists from the regions through performances, to discover the artistic and cultural potential of Burkina Faso, to discover the cultural and tourist wealth of Burkina Faso and to promote cultural and artistic mixing between artists through future collaborations”.

The choice of the theme is explained in the sense that “music can and must play its part in the construction of a united and prosperous nation”, especially in a difficult security context like ours for more than seven years, underlined the promoter Siaka Coulibaly.

Mr. Coulibaly said that the cultural festival will be marked by several activities including cultural entertainment. “The artistic platform will be made up of the best artists from each region (13 administrative regions of Burkina)”.

“Each administrative region will be represented by the best artist who will have marked the year with a discographic release and quality artistic performances. In addition to these confirmed artists, a skylight will be open to young talents in order to make them known to the public and producers, “he said.

It is also planned “a balafon evening called “cabaret evening” and “a Disc-jockey animation component (which) will be provided by the best DJs who will provide entertainment for the public mix of Burkinabè music in order to keep the public spellbound”.

The activity will also be marked by a caravan of sponsors and partners, a trade fair and the maquis area, the children’s village, training and conferences.

“The trade fair will be one of the attractions of the festival with a space equipped with maquis and restaurants. For catering, the space will be arranged by district. Each district will be specialized in specific culinary dishes,” said Siaka Coulibaly.

This edition is placed under the sponsorship of Maître Yacouba Dembélé, Notary and President of the Burkinabe Society and Notarial Practice and Executive Director of the Center for the Popularization of Law and Access to Justice.

The co-sponsor is Moussa Dembélé, president of the Déni Dèmè association and of the Federation of Cultural Enterprises and Events of Sya (FECESY).
