The police in Nebo nab a house robbery suspect in possession of unlicensed firearm

The Police at Nebo, Sekhukhune District through intelligence driven operation have arrested a 29-year-old male. The suspect has been nabbed for house robbery and possession of unlicensed firearm on Wednesday 16 August 2023 at Mokgapaneng village.

The team comprising the Station Commander, Rural Safety Coordinator and the Tracking Unit operationalized the information received from the source about the suspect of the house robbery incident, which was committed in the beginning of this month August, around Mokgapaneng village.

It is reported that the suspect was spotted by the source at his residence and alerted the Police. They swiftly responded to the information subsequently cornered and arrested the suspect. He was found to be in possession of unlicensed firearm.

The Police are hard on the heels of the accomplice of the suspect.

The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe welcomed the arrest. She pointed out that these members are removing illegal firearms from wrong hands and this is very important and saving innocent lives.

The suspect is expected to appear before Nebo Magistrate’s Court on Friday 18 August 2023.
