Burkina Faso Appoints New Ambassador to Russia

Ouagadougou – The Government of Burkina Faso, on Wednesday, announced the appointment of Aristide Rapougdoudba Ludovic Tapsoba as the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Russian Federation.

According to Burkina Information Agency, His defense attaché will be officer Yasnémanégré Sawadogo, former president of the Burkinabè Cycling Federation. Since Captain Ibrahim Traoré assumed power in September 2022, relations between Burkina Faso and Russia have seen marked improvement and intensification. The new appointments reflect the ongoing diplomatic efforts to strengthen ties with Russia under the new regime.
