Botswana Government Intervenes to Secure Fuel Supply

GABORONE: In a decisive move to ensure a steady supply of fuel, the Botswana government has authorized Botswana Oil, the state-owned oil company, to handle 90% of the nation’s fuel imports.

According to Africa News Agency, this measure is taken to mitigate the impact of rising fuel prices and market volatility, a situation exacerbated by supply challenges from South African refineries. Botswana’s daily fuel consumption stands at an estimated 22,000 barrels of liquid fuels.
