Addis Ababa Observes Good Friday with Solemnity

Addis Ababa – Ethiopian Christians marked Good Friday, locally known as Siklet, with a series of religious observances, reflecting on the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Across Ethiopia, congregants gathered in churches from early morning to engage in prayers, readings, hymns, and prostrations, observing a day of reflection and fasting.

According to Ethiopian News Agency, the day’s solemn activities set the stage for the upcoming Easter Sunday celebrations, which will rejoice in Christ’s resurrection and triumph over death. This progression from Good Friday to Easter encapsulates a core aspect of the Christian faith, focusing on themes of optimism and redemption.
