President Traoré Appoints Key Commanders in Special and Rapid Intervention Brigade


OUAGADOUGOU – In a strategic move to strengthen the Special and Rapid Intervention Brigade, President Ibrahim Traoré has appointed commanders to oversee various units within the brigade, as confirmed on Friday. The brigade, under the leadership of Colonel Moussa Diallo, will now see new faces in commanding roles.



According to Burkina Information Agency, Captain Emmanuel Gnoumou will take charge of the Field Artillery and Rapid Intervention Battalion. This unit plays a critical role in the brigade’s operations, requiring a blend of tactical artillery expertise and rapid response capabilities. Captain Cheick Ibrahim Rachid Degtoumda has been assigned to lead the Rapid Intervention Air Squadron, a unit essential for aerial support and quick deployment in critical situations.



Further appointments include Captain Yannick Benebgninga Compaoré, who will now head the Armored Rapid Intervention Battalion. This battalion is integral to the brigade’s armored warfare and rapid tactical movements. Additionally, the Support and Support Command Battalion will be under the command of Captain Wintoumon Didier Magloire Kamboulé, a position crucial for logistical and operational support within the brigade.



Furthermore, Captain Jean Paul Traoré has been entrusted with a pivotal role as the head of the Training and Development Center for Special and Rapid Intervention Units. This center is responsible for the training and skill development of personnel in these specialized units, ensuring they are prepared for the demands of rapid and strategic interventions.
