Angola already in the world cup ends undefeated in the qualifying phase

Luanda – The National Basketball Team, already qualified for the World Cup, this year, in Asia, ended the 5th Window of access to the global event undefeated, thanks to the victory, this Sunday, against Nigeria, by 65-59.

The qualifying race ended at the Kilamba pavilion, in Luanda.

With a selection made up of young athletes, with an average age between 21 and 24 years old, Angola made the full with consecutive victories over Uganda, by 82-49, Cape Verde, by 80-67 and Nigeria, by 65-59 .

At halftime, the African hendecampees were winning by 36-29, in the least productive challenge in this final stage of the competition, after scoring 82 and 80, respectively, against Uganda and Cape Verde.

Base Childe Dundão, who was injured in the first quarter of the game, was limited and scored only three points, which is not common in his productivity statistics per game.

His colleague in position, the Nigerian Ibe Agu, was the best scorer of the meeting with 26 converted points.

In the E series, in addition to Côte d’Ivoire, which has already qualified, Angola and Cape Verde also secured a ticket to the World Cup, from August 25th to September 10th in Japan, Indonesia and the Philippines.
