Suspects face charges for the possession of drugs

High Density integrated operations in Khayelitsha yielded success when two men aged 60 and 27, were arrested for the possession of drugs on Friday evening.

Members of Operation Restore were busy with crime prevention patrols when a member of the public stopped and informed them of a person who was busy selling drugs in Nyathi Street, Site B. The members followed up on the information and searched the premises. The members found 41 mandrax tablets, two large zip lock bags containing cocaine and a large quantity of crystal meth weighing approximately 250 gram in the house.

The suspects will appear in the Khayelitsha Magistrates court on Monday.

Members of Operation Restore deployed in Gugulethu arrested a 62 year old man for the possession of dagga on Friday evening. The members followed up on information of a person that is selling dagga in NY 53. During a search of the premises a black bag with dagga cigarettes and loose dagga were confiscated. The suspect will appear in the Athlone Magistrates court on Monday.
