Ethiopian Airlines Unveils $55 Million E-commerce Cargo Center


ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopian Airlines Group has officially opened a state-of-the-art e-commerce cargo service center at Bole International Airport, constructed at a cost of $55 million.



According to Ethiopian News Agency, this new facility is part of the airline’s strategy to adapt to the evolving cargo service landscape and capitalize on the growing digital market globally. The center is designed to facilitate the transport of goods purchased online to various global destinations via Addis Ababa, enhancing Ethiopia’s role in the international e-commerce supply chain. Mesfin highlighted the center’s potential to significantly contribute not only to Ethiopia’s economy but also to the broader African continental economy and free trade area. The inauguration was attended by dignitaries including Transport and Logistics Minister Alemu Sime and representatives from the diplomatic community.
