AJRCC Unveils 2024 Activity Program in Banfora

Banfora – The Youth Association for Cultural Renewal of the Cascades (AJRCC) held a press conference on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, in Banfora to announce its agenda for the year. Serge Coulibaly, the Coordinator of AJRCC, detailed the organization’s key activities planned for 2024.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the School Festival of Music and Dance (FSCOMD) is set to be a major cultural event, involving various primary and secondary preschool educational institutions. This annual event, hosted in Banfora in the Cascades region, will commence on March 2, with the finale scheduled for March 23, 2024. However, due to financial constraints, the AJRCC will not be able to financially support candidates this year.

For the 2024 edition of FESCOMD, the event will feature categories like playback and wearable art for preschool and primary school participants, with the addition of slam poetry for the adolescent category. Furthermore, the AJRCC is planning to organize a large fair in collaboration with schools, slated for May 15, 2024, following the third-quarter evaluation. This fair will include participation from traders and traditional practitioners.

Additionally, the AJRCC is creating a WhatsApp group named ‘Groupe Cascades Info (GCI)’, aiming to promote the association’s activities and focus on social aspects. GCI’s inaugural event will be a blood donation week from February 5 to 12, 2024. The purpose of this initiative is to collect blood for the country’s needs, supporting not only the sick but also the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), particularly those wounded in combat.
