Burkina: “The ”e-contravention” platform is designed to facilitate the online payment of fines”, Minister

The Minister Delegate in charge of Security, Mahamadou Sana launched this Tuesday, in Ouagadougou, the “e-ticket” platform to facilitate the online payment of fines and fight against corruption.

“The platform was set up to alleviate the difficulties encountered by users in the event of the commission of contraventions. It will also be an effective way to fight against corruption and loss of capital for the benefit of the state budget”, affirmed the minister delegate in charge of security Mahamadou Sana.

Chief Police Commissioner Sana was speaking this Tuesday, July 11, 2023 in Ouagadougou, during a press conference on the launch of the e-ticket platform.

He said that the e-ticket platform was designed by the Ministry of Territorial Administration, Decentralization and Security, in collaboration with the ministry in charge of digital transition.

According to him, it will allow State structures to have reliable statistics on fines.

“One of the major facilities offered by the new platform is the possibility of payment of the fine on the spot by mobile money”, he added.

Minister Sana also noted that the management of a ticket takes into account the observation of the offense by the officer, the notification of the ticket to the offender and the payment of the fine.

Mr. Sana urged the Security Forces to sustainably take ownership of this platform in order to improve public security services.

“I appeal to the entire population to take ownership of this platform and to support the ministry in charge of security in this innovation, because everyone wins”, he wished.

He also indicated that the servers of the e-ticketing platform are housed in Burkina and specified that the smartphones to be used by police officers in the application of the platform are manufactured by Burkinabè.

The Minister Delegate indicated that this pilot phase of the use of the e-ticket platform concerns the two major cities of Burkina, in particular Ouagadougou and Bobo Dioulasso.
