Jubilee Party Criticizes Government for Constitutional Amendments

Embu – The Jubilee Party has openly accused the Government of attempting to subvert the public’s will by surreptitiously pushing for constitutional amendments. The accusation was made by the Party Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni during the election of party grassroots leaders in Embu on Saturday.

According to Kenya News Agency, the current regime is attempting to pass amendments that legally require a referendum through the parliament, which he deemed unlawful. “We must say no to the mutilation of the constitution by a determined executive,” he declared. He also emphasized the opposition’s resolve to stand against such authoritarian tendencies. Other leaders at the event expressed disappointment in the KK government, stating that the region had not seen significant project initiatives despite its strong support in the elections. The event concluded with the election of Nominated MCA Agnes Wanjiru and John Kathangu as branch Chair and Secretary General, respectively.
