Ouagadougou, Application files for the 7th edition of the PaxSahel prize are expected from October 13 to November 20, the Journalists’ Initiative Network (RIJ) organizer of the competition, indicated Thursday, during of a press conference.

The Organizing Committee (CO) of the 7th edition of the PaxSahel prize announced Thursday during a press conference that the application files for the 7th edition of the PaxSahel prize for Conflict-Sensitive Journalism (JsC), are expected online or physically from October 13 to November 20.

‘The works in competition must have been published or broadcast between October 1, 2022 and October 10, 2023,’ declared Thursday, the president of the CO of the 2023 edition of the PaxSahel prize, Kowoma Marc Doh, also secretary general of the RIJ .

Mr. Doh explained that the PaxSahel Prize is a competition open to journalists from three Sahel countries: Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger.

According to him, the competition will concern three categories of media which are television bro
adcasting/mojo, radio broadcasting and the written press/online press, dealing with conflicting subjects.

‘The winners of the 7th edition will be awarded on December 1st during a ceremony. We will have one winner per category to be awarded for the official prizes,’ he added.

The president of the OC also mentioned the special Koffi-Amétépé prize for African integration as in previous years.

As a reminder, the PaxSahel Prize for Sensitive Journalism (JSC) is an award awarded by the Network of Journalists’ Initiatives (RIJ) and aims to promote quality journalism of living together and peace.
