Angola Press Agency Marks 48th Anniversary with Technological Upgrades

LUANDA – The Angola Press Agency (ANGOP) celebrated its 48th foundation anniversary on Monday, putting a spotlight on its focus on technological modernization.

According to Angola Press News Agency, ANGOP is Angola’s only news agency dedicated to the collection, processing, and dissemination of information and news, adhering to the principle of objective reporting.

Initially transformed into a state-owned press agency in 1978 through a presidential decree, ANGOP adopted a 24-hour news service in 1991. In February 2000, it began publishing material online, and eight years later launched its information portal, thereby increasing its accountability to the public. ANGOP maintains delegations in all 18 provinces of Angola and has correspondents overseas in Portugal and Canada.
