Banwa Women March in White to Advocate for Peace


BANWA – In observance of International Women’s Day on March 8, women in Banwa took a stand for peace in Burkina Faso by dressing in white and participating in a march.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the peaceful demonstration was not only a call for peace but also an expression of support for the nation’s Fighting Forces and the transitional government. During their march, the participants voiced their demands for enhanced security, the safe return of internally displaced persons (IDPs) to their homes, the restoration of electricity, and improved access to their locality.
