Ioba: The new provincial director of water and sanitation, Zié Ibrahim Ouattara installed

The High Commissioner of Ioba province, Bernadette Adenyo née Sermé officially installed the new Provincial Director of Water and Sanitation (DPEA) of Ioba, Zié Ibrahim Ouattara on Wednesday September 27, 2023 in Dano, in its functions.

The handover ceremony between the incoming provincial directors, Zié Ibrahim Ouattara and outgoing, Abdoul Aziz Kaboré of water and sanitation of Ioba took place at the Dano high commission.

It was chaired by the first official of the Ioba province, Bernadette Adenyo / Sermé.

The handover took place in the presence of the Regional Director of Water and Sanitation (DREA) of the South-West, Moussa Ramdé, constituted bodies, friends, colleagues and collaborators.

Mr. Ouattara, who became the second DPEA of the Ioba province, said he recognizes that the expectations and challenges are multiple and immense.

He also said he was counting on the support of the DREA to achieve the expected results.

‘I have no doubt about the usual involvement of all those involved in supporti
ng the service. This will make it possible to win the bet, to guarantee access to water and sanitation for all and to manage water resources in a sustainable way,’ he added.

Zié Ibrahim Ouattara urged his colleagues at the Ioba DPEA to work as a team. He thanked the provincial authorities and those of the DREA for organizing this ceremony.

He replaces in this position the first DPEA of Ioba, Abdoul Aziz Kaboré who spent 5 years at the head of the regional institution.

According to him, during his mission he was able to carry out 84 boreholes equipped with human-powered pumps, 7 mini drinking water supply systems (AEP), 78 family latrines and 4 blocks of institutional latrines.

Abdoul Aziz Kaboré expressed his gratitude to the administrative, religious and customary authorities for the support he received.

The South-West DREA, Moussa Ramdé, provided advice to the incoming DPEA for the success of its mission. He invited all the bodies to support him in his new role.

Bernadette Adenyo / Sermé thanked the outgoing DPEA, Abdoul Aziz Kaboré for the sacrifice made since 2018, in order to satisfy the needs of the populations.

She congratulated the incoming DPEA, Zié Ibrahim Ouattara and recalled his responsibilities.

Bernadette Adenyo insisted on the advisory support role of the DPEA alongside local authorities, in order to iron out the operating difficulties of water dependency systems.

She invited all partners to support the Ioba province to improve sanitation.

‘I hope that certain villages and even the entire province will be declared ‘ODF’ which means ‘End of open defecation’ she announced.

To this end, a gift was given to the outgoing DPEA, Abdoul Aziz Kaboré for his multiple efforts made in the work.

As a reminder, Zié Ibrahim Ouattara, a rural development engineer, was appointed on Wednesday September 13, 2023 as the new DPEA of the Ioba province.

Mr. Ouattara was previously in service at the South-West DREA in Gaoua.
