MEDIA STATEMENT: COMMITTEE ON WOMEN, YOUTH AND PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES CHAIRPERSON WISHES NYDA ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSION WELL

The Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities, Ms Nonhlanhla Ncube-Ndaba, has wished the National Youth Development Agency Executive Chairperson success in hosting the 2nd Investment roundtable with young South Africans.

The Investment Roundtable is aimed at linking youth with potential investors. Furthermore, the Roundtable will bring critical stakeholders to deliberate on commitments towards contributing to the development of youth through various investment pathways. In so doing provide a platform for discussions on accelerating much investments across various industries, for the benefit of youth on a national, regional and international level.

The committee has noted the Roundtable discussion platform with appreciation, a platform which promotes a culture of critical thinking and action orientated youth who are also change agents. “We are behind our young people especially on programmes such as this one that are aimed at stimulating critical thinking for their development which will translate into taking the country forward as they are the future of the country,” said Ms Ncube-Ndaba.

Ms Ncube-Ndaba said it is encouraging to see young people engaged in progressive programmes of this nature especially in this month of June which is regarded as youth month in South Africa. “We are confident that the NYDA would be able to achieve the objectives for which the Roundtable discussion was planned and to benefit the youth in the end,” said Ms Ncube-Ndaba.
