Announcement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding FM Nikos Dendias’ contact with relatives of the Greek injured, the Greek Embassy in Bucharest, and the Romanian authorities, following the Greek tourist bus accident (Athens, 23.12.2022)

Following the news of the tragic accident involving the Greek tourist bus that occurred earlier in Bucharest, Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Dendias immediately contacted the Greek Ambassador to Romania, Sofia Grammata, and asked the Greek Embassy to assist and remain by the side of the Greek passengers, the injured and their families for as long as required.

Furthermore, the Minister of Foreign Affairs contacted relatives of the injured, conveying his wishes for a speedy recovery and assuring them that the Greek Embassy will assist them in every possible way. He reiterated his deepest sorrow for the loss of life of a Greek citizen.

Lastly, it is noted that the Minister held a telephone conversation with his Romanian counterpart, Bogdan Aurescu, in order to thank him for the Romanian authorities’ prompt response and the excellent cooperation with the Greek Embassy in Bucharest in dealing with this difficult situation.
