Recognition for Exemplary Workplace Safety at Local Companies


Ouagadougou – the Burkinabe government recognized three companies for their commitment to workplace safety during the commemoration events of the 22nd World Day for Safety and Health at Work and the 28th African Occupational Risk Prevention Day. The ceremonies included presentations and a theatrical performance aimed at promoting awareness about occupational safety.



According to Burkina Information Agency, Orezone Bomboré received the first prize for its exemplary practices in ensuring safety and health at its mining operations. The second prize was awarded to Endeavor Mining, another mining company noted for its safety standards. CIMFASO, a cement manufacturing company, took home the third prize. These awards highlight the ongoing efforts within the industrial sector to prioritize employee safety and health, reflecting the event’s dual aims to honor victims of workplace accidents and to promote prevention of occupational illnesses.
