Hipondoka promises fireworks against Rehabeam

Namibian catchweight boxer, Hedison ‘Bulelo’ Nghipondoka, has pledged to knock out his opponent, Usko Rehabeam, during AC Boxing Academy’s inaugural boxing event of the year taking place on Saturday.

He was speaking here on Thursday during the announcement of the Rising Stars boxing event, which will take place at the NamPower Convention Centre in Windhoek.

“I am going to knock him out. I won’t disclose the round, but anticipate a boxing lesson. This time, he won’t have anywhere to hide. I am going to educate this boy in boxing because he lacks manners,” Nghipondoka said.

He said he will be at the top of his game on the night of the fight and expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to fulfil one of his wishes.

“People have been eagerly awaiting this fight, and I am grateful to AC Boxing Academy for providing their boxer to face me. I hope you will also be ready to collect your boy and rush him to the hospital, where I will bring him a salad the next morning as he recovers,” Nghipondoka said.

Meanwhile, Rehabeam asserted that he was born ready and said Nghipondoka lacks the skills to win a fight against him.

“You can talk, but I will educate you in the ring. You don’t possess the skills to compete at my level,” he said.

Rehabeam added that his opponent has never knocked out anyone in his boxing career, so he was not afraid of his empty boasts.

The AC Boxing event will feature their hometown hero Flame Nangolo as the headline attraction, taking on Johnny Herman in a 10-round non-title super featherweight bout.

Other boxers on the card include Ruaan Rispel and Sakaria Kandjambanga in a six-round welterweight fight; Hafeni Ngesheya versus Steven Shilomboleni in a six-round lightweight bout; Robert Ndalelwa versus Lamanguluka Nghafikwa in another six-round lightweight contest, and Johannes Andreas and Paulus Morgan, also in the same weight category and number of rounds.

Jonathan Kasheeta and Tobias Amunyela will kick off the night with a four-round flyweight bout.
