Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs Miltiadis Varvitsiotis to participate in the EU General Affairs Council (GAC) (Luxembourg, 18.10.2022)

Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs for European Affairs, Miltiadis Varvitsiotis, will participate in the General Affairs Council (GAC) of the European Union, to be convened tomorrow, Tuesday, October 18, in Luxembourg.

Discussions will focus on the preparation of the upcoming European Council meeting on October 20 and 21, 2022, where Mr. Varvitsiotis will accompany the Prime Minister. The GAC will work on the draft conclusions of the Summit, with the main topics being the war in Ukraine, energy, economic issues and the Union’s external relations.

The agenda also includes an exchange of views on the follow-up to the Conference on the Future of Europe, as well as a discussion on developments regarding the rule of law in Poland and the revision of the EU rules governing the European Parliament elections.
