Namibian Police Investigate Livestock Theft and Slaughter at Okahandja Farm


OKAHANDJA: The Namibian Police are actively investigating a case of livestock theft following the reported stealing and slaughtering of sheep and goats at a local farm in the Okahandja district. The incident took place early Tuesday morning on Farm Groot Martin.



According to Namibia Press Agency (NAMPA), a spokesperson for the Namibian Police Force, 14 sheep and two goats, valued at N.dollars 31,000, were taken from their kraal by unknown suspects. The animals’ throats were cut, and their intestines removed before the carcasses were hidden near the farm. Muronga revealed that all carcasses were recovered. “During the tracing process, shoeprints of three suspected culprits were found at the junction between Hochfeld and Okondjatu,” he added. The investigation is ongoing as the police seek to identify and apprehend the suspects.
