Two suspects apprehended for possession of suspected stolen vehicle following a tip-off

Members of SAPS Limpopo Tracking Team together with Limpopo Murder and Robbery Unit on Sunday, 23 July 2023 arrested two suspects aged 28 and 34 after being found in possession of suspected stolen vehicle with cloned disc and false registration at Mamaolo village.

It is reported that Crime Intelligence Team provided leads about suspects that committed robbery at a bakery earlier this month (July) in Lebowakgomo. The team swiftly responded to the information and the two suspects seated in a parked white Kia Picanto were tactically approached. The Police searched them and tested their vehicle, which reflected to be reported hijacked in April 2023 at Siyabuswa Policing area Mpumalanga Province.

The suspects were immediately arrested for possession of suspected stolen vehicle. They might be linked with more cases around the area as investigations unfolds.

The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe appreciated the members for responding quickly to leads and managed to arrest the two suspects.

They will soon appear before the Thabamoopo Magistrate’s Court facing charge of possession of suspected vehicle.

The Police investigations are still continuing.
