Employment and Labour urge employers to take collective responsibility to transform the workforce in all occupational levels

Complying with Employment Equity is not an expensive exercise, employers are advised to get their houses in order, said Acting Provincial Chief Inspector(PCI) Reckson Tshitshivheli during the annual Employment Equity Road Show taking place in Polokwane today, 24 August 2022.

He urged employers to take collective responsibility to transform the workforce of the province at all occupational levels from the highest to the lowest level.

The purpose of the workshop is amongst a few to educate employers on the legislative framework of the gazetted code of good practice and the Employment Equity reporting.

He said it is not enough for stakeholders to meet regularly yet the results do not change.

“Our activities should be geared towards the purpose of our legislation “equitable representation of the workforce at all occupational levels. We must not lose sight of the purpose in our engagements. It is almost 28 years since the promulgation of the EE Act, said the Acting PCI.

Tshitshivheli said, “Employers should reflect on the progress made since the dawn of democracy and make improvements collectively”.
