Somali National Army Targets Al-Shabaab Hideouts in Bakool Region Operations

BAKOOL – The Somali National Army’s 9th battalion carried out planned military operations against Al-Shabaab terrorists in the Bakool region. Major Yonis Adan Hassan, the commander of the battalion, informed national media outlets about the operations, which spanned the areas of War-wiin, War-dhato, Eelahaley, and Moorigaabey.

According to Somali National News Agency, The military efforts successfully dispelled terrorists from their hideouts, and the commander commended the local population for their assistance and denouncement of terrorism. Major Hassan also indicated that the next phase of the counter-terrorism campaign is set to commence soon in the Southwest areas, following the announcement by the president of the Federal Republic of Somalia.
