Ouagadougou to Host Conference on Fostering Patriotic Spirit Among Citizens

OUAGADOUGOU – A significant public conference, under the banner ‘Engaging all Burkinabè in the patriotic spirit,’ is scheduled to take place on April 3 in Ouagadougou, focusing on drawing lessons from Burkina Faso’s history and exploring innovative actions for sustainable citizen involvement.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the conference is a key component of the Days of Patriotic Engagement and Citizen Participation (JEPPC), an initiative designed to bolster the sense of patriotism and civic responsibility among the Burkinabè population. The event aims to harness historical insights and experiences from Burkina Faso and other African nations to foster a deeper understanding of patriotic commitment and encourage active citizen participation.

Organizers have outlined the conference’s objectives as an opportunity to revisit successful patriotic and participatory endeavors, brainstorm fresh and impactful engagement strategies, and tackle the challenges associated with maintaining the momentum of such initiatives. Scheduled to be held in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ conference room, this gathering is part of a broader, fortnight-long observance of national dedication and involvement.

The JEPPC initiative, inaugurated in September 2023 and officially launched by the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, on March 26, 2024, reflects a strategic effort to cultivate a cohesive and proactive community ethos, encouraging all Burkinabè to contribute actively to the nation’s development and solidarity.
