Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Dendias to participate in the EU Foreign Affairs Council (Brussels, 21.03.2022)

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikos Dendias, will travel tomorrow, Monday, March 21, to Brussels, where he will participate in the Foreign Affairs Council (FAC) of the European Union (EU).

Prior to the opening of the Council’s proceedings, the Minister of Foreign Affairs will host a working breakfast for his counterpart from North Macedonia, Bujar Osmani, which will be attended by other EU Foreign Ministers.

The items on the Foreign Affairs Council meeting’s agenda include Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine and the situation in Mali. Ministers are expected to discuss other current international developments as well.

The EU Ministers will also hold an exchange of views with the Deputy Prime-Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Moldova, Nicu Popescu, over a working lunch.

Finally, the Minister of Foreign Affairs will participate, together with Minister of National Defence, Nikos Panagiotopoulos, in the joint session of the EU Foreign Affairs and Defence Ministers that will examine the text of the “Strategic Compass”, with a view to its approval.
