Burkina: Pilgrimage to Mecca and Galian Prize on the daily menu

The state daily Sidwaya mentions on its front page: “Hajj 2O23: The first 430 pilgrims have left Ouagadougou”.

Sidwaya informs that the first flight carrying Burkinabè pilgrims to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia took off from Ouagadougou International Airport on Friday June 2, 2023, in the presence of the administrative authorities.

The daily adds that the hajj or pilgrimage to Mecca is one of the five pillars of Islam and all Muslims must perform it if their financial situation allows them.

The newspaper claims that around 8,000 Burkinabè have registered to meet this religious requirement.

On this subject, L’Observateur Paalga mentions on its front page: “Pilgrimage to Mecca: Successful flight for the first contingent of 450 candidates”.

The Observer Paalga informs that there are 430 of them for the inaugural flight which will take them to Medina and will have to formulate prayers throughout their cultural practice for themselves and especially for their homeland tormented by armed men without faith or law. who swore his downfall.

The daily adds that Hajj 2023 is very important and special in that it has been a few years since this ritual was interrupted due to COVID-19.

For the private daily Le Pays, the government has granted certain facilities to the organizers and has put in place support measures for the benefit of pilgrims so that this edition of the Hajj is a success.
