Two suspects are due in court on charges of dealing in drugs and the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition

Two suspects are expected to make their court appearances on charges of dealing in drugs and the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

Police members of the Western Cape Provincial Task team followed up on information of drug dealing at a business premises in Bellville on Tuesday 11 July 2023. When they entered the premises in Voortrekker Road at around 18:30 they conducted an intense search and confiscated a consignment of drugs and a substantial amount of cash. A 51-year-old man was arrested for dealing in drugs.

In an unrelated matter, Cloetesville police were busy with stop and search operations in Last Street on Wednesday 12 July 2023 at around 16:00. They saw an unknown male running, holding his hand on his stomach. The police members followed the male on foot and apprehended him down the road. Their commitment were rewarded when they confiscated a revolver with ammunition found in his possession. They arrested and detained the 14-year-old male for a charge of possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

Once charged the suspects are expected to make their respective court appearances in the Bellville and Stellenbosch Magistrate court’s on the mentioned charges.
