Burkina/Peace effort: Students from the two public universities in Ouagadougou contribute 587,700 FCFA

Students from Joseph Ki-Zerbo University (UZKZ) and Thomas Sankara University (UTS), presented this Wednesday in Ouagadougou, a check for 587,700 FCFA to the Public Treasury for contribute to the peace effort.

“We believe that above all, we are Burkinabè and we have all heard the call of the President of the Transition to contribute to the peace effort to support the fighting forces which are on the front”, indicated the door- words of students from the two public universities in the capital, Ghislain Dabiré.

Mr. Dabiré was speaking on Wednesday on the occasion of the presentation of a check for 587,700 FCFA to the Public Treasury from Joseph Ki-Zerbo University (UZKZ) and Thomas Sankara University (UTS), to contribute to the peace effort.

He indicated that the fight against terrorism requires the commitment of all. “It is in this sense that we have decided to support this patriotic momentum despite the fact that we have no income,” he said.

Ghislain Dabiré hopes that the reconquest of the territory will allow students who are in the red zones to return there quickly. According to him, the contribution was voluntary through collections in the amphitheatres and deposits via Orange Money and Moov Money.

“It is a very strong, very patriotic and citizenship gesture that we congratulate. We continue to encourage these students in this momentum,” said the representative of the presidents of the two universities, Hamidou Lompo.
