Gauteng Police Arrest Suspect in Kirsten Kluyts Murder Case

PARKTOWN – The Gauteng Provincial Commissioner of Police, Lieutenant General Elias Mawela, has acknowledged the successful efforts of Sandton’s Detective Team in apprehending the alleged murderer of Ms. Kirsten Kluyts, a case that has drawn considerable attention since the incident occurred.

According to South African Police Service, the arrest was made on Sunday, November 26, 2023, in the Parkmore suburb, following an extensive investigation by the detectives and with the assistance of 24/7 Security Management. The suspect, identified as a 21-year-old student at a Sandton tertiary institution, was apprehended at around 16:00 at a student residence.

Ms. Kirsten Kluyts tragically lost her life on October 29, 2023, while jogging at George Lea Park in Parkmore. Her death prompted a significant investigative effort, culminating in this recent arrest.

The suspect is now facing murder charges and is expected to appear in court shortly for these allegations. The arrest marks a significant development in a case that has impacted the Parkmore community and highlights the ongoing efforts of the Gauteng police to bring perpetrators of serious crimes to justice.
