Kenya to Privatize 35 State Companies, Eyes More

Kenya – Kenya’s President William Ruto announced plans to privatize 35 state companies, with considerations for a further 100 firms, following the enactment of a revised law last month aimed at reducing bureaucratic hurdles. This announcement was made during a meeting with African stock market officials in Nairobi.

According to Africa News Agency, Ruto highlighted the government’s intention to transition these companies to private sector management. “We have identified the first 35 companies that we are going to offer to the private sector,” he stated. This move represents a significant shift in Kenya’s approach to state-owned enterprises, signaling a new era of privatization and economic reform in the country.
