Guémilatou Tiemtoré Encourages Secretaries to Embrace Digital Technology


Ouagadougou — In a recent defense of her thesis, Guémilatou Tiemtoré, a candidate for the Brevet de Technicien Supérieur (BTS) at ESCO-IGES, emphasized the importance of digital technology for executive secretaries in public administration. Tiemtoré presented her thesis under the title ‘Executive Secretary in the Era of Digital Transformation: Case of Editions Sidwaya,’ focusing on the critical role of secretaries in enhancing organizational efficiency and supporting management through advanced digital tools.



According to Burkina Information Agency, who has previously worked as a secretary in the Finance and Accounting Department at Éditions Sidwaya, the integration of digital technology in daily tasks is essential for secretaries to improve performance and facilitate their responsibilities. She shared insights from her internship experience at Editions Sidwaya, noting the differences between theoretical learning and practical application, and highlighted how digital tools have become indispensable in the modern workplace.



The thesis defense, held on Friday, concluded with the jury awarding Tiemtoré a score of 16 out of 20, validating her findings and proposals. Tiemtoré plans to apply her newly acquired skills to further contribute to the public press group in Burkina Faso, aiming to foster an environment where secretaries are well-equipped to meet the demands of the digital age.
