Ganzourgou Encourages Civic-Mindedness Among Students with Flag-Raising Ceremony


ZORGHO — The Kambambori ‘A’ school in Zorgho, Ganzourgou province, hosted a significant flag-raising ceremony on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, under the guidance of the Secretary General (SG) of Ganzourgou province, Harouna Karambiri. Representing the High Commissioner, Karambiri addressed a gathering of students, teachers, and educational officials, emphasizing the importance of civic-mindedness and national pride.



This ceremony, a tradition in Zorgho, occurs on the first Tuesday of every month, bringing together directors and heads of provincial services for a symbolic display of respect for the nation’s colors. This month’s event, held at Kambambori ‘A’ School, was selected by the High Commissioner to continue this custom of honoring the national flag.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the purpose of this initiative is to foster a sense of respect for the national symbols among children, while also recognizing the dedication of teachers to their important educational roles. The ceremony, which featured a rendition of the national anthem by students, served as a reminder of the collective responsibility to instill fundamental values in the younger generation.



Raogo Jean Claude Ouédraogo, head of the Zorgho Basic Education District, expressed his appreciation for the initiative, highlighting its positive impact on promoting a culture of civic responsibility among students. Kambambori ‘A’ School, with a history dating back to 1929, has played a significant role in the educational development of the province, a legacy that continues under the leadership of Maliki Daouda Guiro.



The flag-raising ceremony at Kambambori ‘A’ School symbolizes a united educational community’s commitment to imparting essential values to its students, ensuring the event’s lasting impact on all participants.
