Western Cape Department of Human Settlements launches the Bothasig Phase 3 Social Housing Project

On Wednesday, 27 October, Western Cape Minister of Human Settlements Tertuis Simmers, will officially launch the Bothasig Phase 3 Social Housing Project. Minister Simmers will be joined by representatives from the Social Housing Regulatory Authority (SHRA) Zimbini Hill and the Ward Councillor Helen Carstens.

The Bothasig Phase 3 project which consists of 314 social housing units is managed by Communicare. It provides a rental option for families with a combined income between R1 501 – R15 000 per month.

Simmers said: “This launch comes at an opportune time for our citizens, particularly since many families have been adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. This project ensures that residents have access to an affordable housing opportunity in a well-located area that is close to amenities such as schools, healthcare, public transport and economic opportunities. I’m looking forward to engaging these residents”.

There will be an opportunity for interviews and photographs

All media are invited to attend.
