Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Kostas Fragogiannis to visit Kuwait (16-17.01.2023)

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Economic Diplomacy and Openness, Kostas Fragogiannis, will visit Kuwait on January 16 and 17, 2023, together with Minister of Development and Investment, Adonis Georgiadis.

The purpose of the visit is to improve bilateral economic relations by increasing trade volume and attracting new investments, so that the excellent level of bilateral political relations between Greece and Kuwait is reflected in the economy as well.

The Deputy Minister will hold a bilateral meeting with his counterpart, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait Mansour Ayyad Al Otaibi. In addition, Mr. Fragogiannis and Mr. Georgiades will meet with Undersecretary of Ministry of Finance Aseel Al-Saad AlMunifi and with Minister of Commerce and Industry and Minister of State for Telecommunications and Information Technology Affairs Mazin Saad Ali Al-Nahedh.

The agenda of the talks will include, inter alia, the prospects for cooperation in the fields of agricultural production and food trade, energy, with a focus on Greece’s potential to assist Kuwait in the transition to green energy, as well as in the tourism sector.  

In the context of the visit, Deputy Minister Fragogiannis will sign, on behalf of the Hellenic Export Credit Company ECG, a Memorandum of Cooperation with Dhaman, Kuwait’s respective entity.
