Burkina Faso Establishes Two Airborne Intervention Battalions

Ouagadougou – In a significant move to bolster its rapid response capabilities, Burkina Faso has created two airborne intervention battalions (BIR). These battalions are part of the country’s initiative to strengthen its military presence and response in strategic areas.

According to Burkina Information Agency, President Ibrahim Traoré announced that one battalion is already deployed in the Boromo area, while the other is set to be stationed in the Koudougou area. The establishment of these battalions is a strategic step in enhancing the nation’s defense and security operations, particularly in regions prone to security challenges.
