Africa Urged to Tap Into Home-Grown Solutions for Green Economy Transition


VICTORIA FALLS – At the 42nd meeting of the Committee of Experts of the Conference of Ministers of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, African nations were called upon to transition into inclusive, low carbon, and resource-efficient economies through indigenous innovative financing solutions.



According to Ethiopian News Agency, The conference, held in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, focuses on ‘Financing the transition to inclusive green economies in Africa.’ Zimbabwe’s Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube and ECA Deputy Executive Secretary Antonio Pedro addressed the urgent need for investment in sustainable agriculture and renewable energy, highlighting Africa’s potential in leveraging its vast resources for food security and energy access. Pedro emphasized the transformative impact of regional value chains and renewable energy adoption in achieving Sustainable Development Goals across the continent.
