Wendpanga Bruno Compaoré Assumes Role as Executive Director of Burkina Faso’s National Office of Major Projects


OUAGADOUGOU — Wendpanga Bruno Compaoré has officially taken office as the new Executive Director of the National Office of Major Projects of Burkina Faso. The installation ceremony was conducted on Monday in Ouagadougou by Dr. Zakaria Soré, Secretary General of the Presidency of Faso.



According to Burkina Information Agency, Wendpanga Bruno Compaoré, a Treasury Inspector, was appointed to this prestigious position during the Council of Ministers meeting on Wednesday, January 5, 2024. At the ceremony, he received commendations and words of encouragement from the Secretary General of the Presidency of Faso.



In his acceptance speech, Compaoré expressed his gratitude towards Captain Ibrahim Traoré, the President of the Transition, for the trust reposed in him at a critical juncture in the nation’s history. He acknowledged the significant responsibilities of his new role and pledged to lead the National Office of Major Projects with serenity and dedication.



Compaoré emphasized his commitment to executing his duties with order, respect, and discipline, ensuring that the Office’s actions are effective, efficient, and impactful. He expressed confidence in his ability to consolidate the existing achievements with the support of his staff.



Additionally, Mr. Compaoré acknowledged the contributions of his predecessor, Sambé Yannick Somda, praising Somda’s total commitment to the Office. He assured that he would build on Somda’s legacy while adding his personal touch to further the Office’s objectives.



Sambé Yannick Somda, the outgoing executive director, expressed pride in laying the foundational work for the Office. He extended his gratitude to the authorities for their trust and to the staff of the BNGP-B and other services of the Presidency of Faso and ministries for their support during his tenure.



The National Office of Major Projects of Burkina Faso plays a crucial role in the country’s development. It is tasked with identifying, designing, and delivering projects that are beneficial to the population due to their socio-economic impacts and relevance in meeting the real needs of the communities.
