Burkina Faso Bakery Aids Internally Displaced Persons and Peace Efforts with Substantial Donation

BANFORA, Burkina Faso — In a significant contribution to support internally displaced persons (IDPs) and the nation’s peace efforts, the PStisserie Miche d’Or bakery in Burkina Faso has made a substantial donation, totaling nearly 8 million FCFA. The bakery donated 5 tons of rice to the IDPs of Banfora and contributed 5 million FCFA towards the peace initiative.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Martine NAPOLEON/BAILOU, the donation was made in response to the transition president’s call for contributions to the peace effort and as a gesture of solidarity with the suffering of IDPs. On February 1, 2024, NAPOLEON/BAILOU and her delegation visited the public treasury of Banfora to deliver the monetary donation. Subsequently, they reported to the administrative authority of the Cascades region.

“I came on behalf of the CEO of the Miche d’Or bakery. As a Burkinabè, I cannot remain indifferent to the call of the President of Faso to provide my support to my brothers and sisters who have fled their localities because of the security crisis,” NAPOLEON/BAILOU stated to the Governor of the Cascade region.

During the visit, NAPOLEON/BAILOU presented the receipt for the payment of 5 million FCFA and the documentation for the 5 tons of rice intended for the IDPs and the peace effort. The Governor of the Cascades region, Florent Badabouè BAZIE, expressed his gratitude to the CEO and the entire team of the Miche d’Or bakery.
