Norbert Zongo Press Center Initiates Marie-Soleil Prize for 2024

Ouagadougou: The Norbert Zongo National Press Center has inaugurated the 2024 edition of the Marie-Soleil Prize, aiming to recognize the top journalist in Burkina Faso.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event coincided with World Press Freedom Day on May 3, where journalist Mariam Ouédraogo, a three-time recipient and reporter at the daily Sidwaya, announced the prize’s opening. With a total prize of 1.5 million FCFA, the award targets exceptional journalistic works across all categories. Submissions are open until September 30, with the winner to be announced on October 20 during the National Press Day celebrations.
