Ethiopia Boasts Diplomatic Success at the 37th African Union Summit


Addis Ababa – Ethiopia has reportedly achieved significant diplomatic successes that align with its national interests at the 37th African Union Summit. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs shared this development during a press briefing on Wednesday.



According to Ethiopian News Agency, Ethiopia engaged in fruitful discussions with numerous countries on the sidelines of the AU Summit to bolster effective bilateral and multilateral relations. Notably, agreements signed with Angola and South Africa were highlighted as key achievements of Ethiopian diplomacy during the summit. Furthermore, discussions with Zimbabwe, aimed at fostering cooperation in agriculture and other sectors, were also successful. Additionally, the Ethiopia-Kenya Joint Ministerial Commission meeting in Addis Ababa led to the signing of Memorandums of Understanding in various sectors, further enhancing cooperation between the two nations. Ambassador Meles also noted that Kenya has removed Ethiopian citizens from Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) related electronic payment requirements, simplifying travel between the two countries.
