Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo Urges Burkinabè to Honor National Flag During National Citizenship Week

Ouagadougou – On Monday, Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo, the Minister in charge of Communication, issued a call to the people of Burkina Faso to honor, respect, and defend their national flag. This took place during the “rise of colors” ceremony at the administrative hotel of the Center in Ouagadougou. The minister was joined by his colleagues Nandy Somé / Diallo, in charge of National Solidarity, and Mikaïlou Sidibé, in charge of Urban Planning.

According to a new release by Burkina Information Agency, which will run from October 23 to 27, 2023. The theme for this year’s event is “Citizenship in action for the reconquest of the integrity of the national territory.”

Minister Ouédraogo stated that National Flag Day serves as a platform to elevate the national symbols and emblems. He also highlighted the objective of SENAC, which aims to encourage the Burkinabè population to embrace and assume their national identity, and to recognize their individual and collective responsibilities in preserving this identity.

This year, SENAC will feature various activities that aim to promote civic values. These include awareness-raising activities, discussions, conferences in educational institutions ranging from schools to universities and professional training centers. Additionally, there will be competitions focusing on civics for students in post-primary establishments across the thirteen regions of Burkina Faso. The official ceremony celebrating the value of Burkinabè citizenship will also be a notable part of this year’s activities.
