Boucle du Mouhoun: Soon, 62km of rural tracks in the region

The governor of the Boucle du Mouhoun region, Pierre Bassinga, chaired the session for the restitution and validation of the summary draft reports of the technical implementation and monitoring studies control of the development works of 62 km of rural roads in his region, on March 16 in Boromo.

Sixty-two (62) km of rural roads using the labor-intensive method (HIMO) will soon be built in the municipalities of Boromo, Siby, Dédougou, Fara, Poura and Toma, in the framework of the implementation of the Emergency Territorial Development and Resilience Project (PUDTR).

The session brought together administrative authorities, technical services, PUDTR officials, representatives of beneficiary populations and design offices to share the findings of field studies and then validate the reports.

To this end, the Terrasol and Afrique Digui design offices presented their study reports to the participants. Together, they assessed the preliminary work carried out by the two design offices and then made proposals for improving the pre-project reports.

According to the participants, “these fruitful exchanges” are the first important signs of the success of these achievements which will open up several localities and bring happiness to the populations.

The governor of Boucle du Mouhoun, Pierre Bassinga, welcomed the various contributions which allowed, according to him, the validation of the reports of the technical studies and follow-up control following the communications.

He invited all stakeholders to get involved for good results.

“What is worth doing should be done well. Roads, schools, health centers are a people’s right. Let’s create quality infrastructures that make technical and financial partners want to support us more. Let’s do them with future generations in mind,” urged the region’s first official.

The Governor also visited several other construction sites as part of the implementation of the Emergency Territorial Development and Resilience Project (PUDTR) in the municipality of Boromo.

In view of these achievements, he expressed his gratitude and that of the people of the region to the first leaders of PUDTR and its partner, the World Bank.

According to the regional head of the PUDTR Mouhoun, Jean Robert, several socio-economic infrastructures will be built in order to support the resilience of the populations of the region.

According to him, several sites are already under construction with generally satisfactory levels of progress. “As an example, 260 classrooms are currently under construction. These rooms will be fully equipped,” he said.
