Gourcy: Patindé Abdoul Kader Zongo Officially Takes Office as Provincial Director of the Environment for Zondoma

Gourcy, Patindé Abdoul Kader Zongo was officially installed as the Provincial Director of the Environment of Zondoma on Tuesday, October 17, 2023. The installation ceremony took place in Gourcy and was presided over by the high commissioner of the province, Aboubacar Sidiki Nabé.

According to News Releases by Burkina Information News Agency, Zongo will be succeeding Jean Sam, the previous Provincial Director who held the role for 5 years, 5 months, and 23 days. Sam expressed his thanks to his collaborators and partners for their support during his tenure. “You assisted me with self-sacrifice, discretion, and courtesy,” Sam said, praising the loyalty and fidelity of his team.

The incoming Provincial Director, Zongo, thanked his superiors for entrusting him with the role. He committed to fulfilling his mission effectively, with the support of local authorities, his team, and the population of Zondoma.

Harouna Ouédraogo, the Regional Director of the Northern Environment, urged the agents of the provincial directorate to work collaboratively with the new Provincial Director to implement the ministry’s environmental policies successfully.

High Commissioner Aboubacar Sidiki Nabé acknowledged the outgoing Director Jean Sam’s contributions and expressed confidence in Zongo’s abilities to meet the challenges ahead. Nabé assured Zongo of his full support and invited all partners to extend the same support.

The Provincial Directorate of the Environment of Zondoma oversees five departmental services and a forestry service. Zongo was appointed to his new position in the Council of Ministers meeting held on Wednesday, October 4, 2023.
