Morocco’s Masen Announces Pre-Qualified Consortia for Noor Midelt III Solar Project

Rabat – The Moroccan Agency for Sustainable Energy (Masen) has announced the pre-qualified consortia and companies for the Noor Midelt III solar project. This disclosure marks a significant step in the project, launched in the summer of 2023, to select a private partner for the design, financing, construction, operation, and maintenance of the third power plant in the Noor Midelt solar complex, known as ‘Noor Midelt III’.

According to Africa News Agency, The Noor Midelt III solar power plant is anticipated to boast an installed photovoltaic capacity of approximately 400 MW, complemented by a battery storage capacity of around 400 MWh using battery energy storage systems (BESS). The entities prequalified for this project include a mix of international and Moroccan companies, showcasing a collaborative approach to renewable energy development. The prequalified entities are Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company PJSC – Masdar (United Arab Emirates) and TAQA MOROCCO S.A (Morocco), Acciona Generacion Renovable S.A. (Spain) and Green Of Africa (Morocco), ACWA Power Company (Saudi Arabia) and NAREVA Holding (Morocco), Cobra Instalaciones y Servicios S.A (Spain) and VINCI CONCESSIONS S.A.S (France), EDF Renewables S.A. (France) and Mitsui & Co. Ltd (Japan), Iberdrola Renovables Internacional S.A.U (Spain), Kahrabel FZE (United Arab Emirates) and GDF International S.A (France), and SPIC Huanghe Hydropower Development Co. Ltd (China) with AMEA Power, Ltd (United Arab Emirates).
