Burkina’s Head of State Commends Sacrifices of Armed Forces in 63rd Anniversary Address

Ouagadougou, During the commemorative events of the 63rd anniversary of the Armed Forces, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, Burkina Faso’s head of state, took the moment to express his appreciation and commendation for the sacrifices and efforts of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Fatherland (VDP) in their ongoing battle to reclaim territories affected by terrorism.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Captain Traoré delivered a message filled with admiration and respect for the forces at the forefront of the fight. “On this day marking the 63rd anniversary of the National Armed Forces, I pay vibrant tribute to our brave Defense and Security Forces and to our Volunteers for the Defense of the Fatherland, engaged in the fight for the reconquest of the national territory,” he stated.

In his message, Captain Traoré highlighted the sense of sacrifice, courage, and patriotism demonstrated by the FDS and VDP. He offered his condolences and remembrance for those who have paid the ultimate price in defense of the nation, and extended wishes of swift recovery to all those who have been injured in the line of duty.

The head of state concluded his message by extending his heartfelt celebration wishes to the “valiant fighters,” acknowledging their critical role in the nation’s security and the liberation of its territories from terrorist activities.
