Water and Sanitation on Mhlathuze water supply in Empangeni and Richards Bay

Water supply restored to communities and industries after completion of routine maintenance work
Mhlathuze Water has restored the supply of water to communities and industries in Empangeni and Richards Bay following the successful completion of maintenance work on a major pipeline.
The water utility which supplies bulk water and waster water related services to industries and municipalities in northern KwaZulu-Natal had temporarily shutdown the water supply system over a 24-hour period in order to maintain one of its major pipelines and replace valves at its Nsezi Water Treatment Plant.
This had an effect on the City of Mhlathuze and some industrial clients that are supplied by Mhlathuze Water.
We extend our gratitude to all stakeholders for bearing with us during the temporary shutdown and assure them that the inconvenience will lead to long term gains and guarantee the security of water supply in future.
We also remind all stakeholders and communities to continue to use water sparingly.
