Uasin Gishu: The County Government of Uasin Gishu has set its sights on improving 1,600 kilometers of roads in the current financial year as part of efforts to boost economic development. County Executive Committee Member for Roads, Eng. Joseph Lagat, announced that the roads improvement program will involve grading over 1,000 kilometers and graveling 600 kilometers, marking a step towards enhancing the county’s infrastructure.

According to Kenya News Agency, Eng. Lagat, who was in Racecourse Ward with area member of County Assembly, Amos Kiptanui, to inspect the graveling of roads within the new Midland estate, stated that the county is working on repairing roads damaged by heavy rainfall. He acknowledged the financial challenges posed by delayed funding but emphasized the county’s commitment to utilizing available resources for key infrastructure projects.

Kiptanui praised the County Roads Department and the county Governor for their support and dedication to delivering quality projects. He highlighted th
at the new roads will improve the transportation of goods and services and urged residents to be patient amid financial challenges affecting the implementation of some projects across all county governments.
