Oshana Region – In a heartbreaking accident at Oshandumbala village in the Oshana Region, an 11-month-old baby boy, Isac Linus, was fatally injured after being run over by a vehicle.
According to Namibian Press Agency (NAMPA), a community affairs officer with the Oshana Namibian Police Force, the incident occurred on Thursday evening. A case of culpable homicide has been opened for investigation. Aiyambo recounted that the 48-year-old man was reversing his metallic grey Toyota pick-up with a Windhoek registration when the accident occurred. His 12-year-old son alerted him to the baby’s presence behind the vehicle, but despite immediate attempts to stop and help the infant, the situation turned tragic.
The baby was quickly taken to Oshakati Intermediate Hospital but was declared dead upon arrival. The community is in mourning after this unforeseen tragedy, and further investigations by the police are underway to understand the full circumstances of the incident.
